RE in year 5 this term
Thursday 8th December |
This term in RE Year 5 have been working on a unit called ‘Why are some places and journeys special?’
The key idea was to understand pilgrimages and their importance to believers. The children have tried to imagine how amazing and awe inspiring it would be to visit these places no matter what religion you are or even as a non-believer. We studied a variety of places and religions; the Western Wall, Mecca, a variety of different Christian special places including The Holy Lands and The Golden Temple. We studied the city of Jerusalem and considered its importance to Jews, Muslims and Christians. This showed the importance of understanding, tolerance and acceptance of the beliefs of others.
