5T at Malham

We had an enjoyable day at Malham on Friday. It wasn’t quite the weather we had planned – it was wet, actually a bit cold at lunchtime and the wind did get up – but the children just got on with it and it didn’t stop them splashing around (although we kept a tighter rein on it this year so no-one got drenched).  We found the source of the River Aire, followed OS maps and identified a range of river and geological features. The children had obviously been well prepared by Miss Levett prior to the trip as they seemed to know a lot already. The waterfalls and springs were full of water after the recent wet weather. Sorry that we were a little late back: this was caused by an accident and road closure near Silsden.
